A Guide to Post-Pregnancy Waist Training

A Guide to Post-Pregnancy Waist Training

Waist Training is one of the hottest trends for new mums who want to get their bodies back in shape post-baby. Some of Hollywood’s sexiest mamas, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba and Ciara give credit to waist trainers in helping them regain their pre-pregnancy bodies. Now non-celebrity mums are following their lead and jumping on the Waist Training bandwagon in attempt to get that perfect hourglass body after giving birth.

What is Waist Training:

Waist Training involves wearing a corset that is made of stiff latex, which is a type of strong, elasticated material that covers the area around your abdomen. It cinches your waist to create the appearance of a slim and sleek waistline through a combination of support and compression of the abdominal area. Immediately upon putting the garment on, you’ll see noticeable results. The Waist Trainer pulls in your waist to create a slimmer, smoother appearance while also creating a desirable hourglass figure. The tightness of the Waist Trainer also causes thermal activity which prompts the loss of excess fat.

How To Use a Waist Trainer:

Many women think that to start Waist Training the Waist Trainer has to be so tight that it restricts your breathing. This is not true and it is important that your Waist Trainer fits you comfortably and if you have trouble breathing then it is too small. Once you get comfortable with the Waist Trainer then you should be able to wear it for 8-10 hours a day. The correct way of using a Waist Trainer after giving birth is to wear it lightly at first. Start off by wearing your waist-trainer for a couple of hours every day and keep it slightly loose.

Using A Waist Trainer Post-Pregnancy:

After birth, your body will take around 4 weeks to dispel water retention that it had been holding during pregnancy. You will also need to give time for your uterus to shrink back to normal which can take up to 6 weeks. So, you should wait around 6 weeks after birth before you begin Waist Training.

During pregnancy, hormones such as estrogen and progesterone are created by the body and loosen up muscles and the pelvic structure. These hormones remain in the body for about 6 months after giving birth. Waist Trainers draw in these loose muscles and provide a support structure around the torso. They also reduce strain on ligaments and joints in the lower back, pelvis, and buttocks. The support given to these areas of the body, lets your body return to its pre-pregnancy body a lot more quickly. Doctors agree that using a binding garment such as a Waist Trainer can help your abdominal muscles return to their original shape by pulling the muscles and skin closer together. It’s important to correct your posture post pregnancy so that your abdominal muscles do not stick out unnecessarily. Waist Trainers help you realign your body enabling you to correct your posture and strengthen your lower back.

We do recommend that you use your Waist Trainer along with a healthy diet plan and workout regimen for optimal fat burning results. Along with fat loss and toning, Waist Trainers also have other functional benefits post-pregnancy, it provides your muscles with extra support which many women need post-pregnancy. Waist Trainers provide support to your lower body making it easier to be active, and bend down and lift heavier items. Many women struggle with being active post-pregnancy; Waist Trainers not only help you look good but help you function better too.
